Looking at buying a car on Craigslist, the description says it's a 98 Buick Le Sabre with water in the cylinders. Is this a pain in the *** to fix? How much for a mechanic to do it, how much to do it yourself?

Stay away from it. Needs major engine work.

it would be easy to fix if you have 10,000 dollars of tools and 10 years experience rebuilding engines from scratch. and maybe 1000 dollars of parts.

Its probably the deal of man its cheap and with that issue, sounds like the engine needs to be rebuild. Blown head gasket or cracked block.

Pass this one up. I'll give you a clue. Ad might as well say "NO ENGINE" because the one it has isn't worth a republicans promise.

blown head gasket and yes it's a pain on a front drive, over $1,000 to fix at a shop.
