Anytime I see a company advertising "just as good as" or "even better than" a __(fill in the blank here)__ - that's usually a red flag to me that it's not. When companies directly try to compare their product to someone else's, the "someone else" is the class leader by definition. Buick unabashedly makes that claim about the Lacrosse wrt to the Lexus ES350. That said, I'm no fan of the ES350 either.
And yes, you do have to show your AARP membership card before the dealership will sell you a Lacrosse.
