It's not the switch that is giving you your problem. It is in the motor control and you will have to replace that assembly to correct the problem. The way the wipers work is that there is a constant power supply going to the motor so that when you turn them off at the switch inside there is a power supply to return them to the parked position, you have noticed you can turn the wipers off in all but your car that they always go back to the hood area. That circuit is where the fault is in yours and it is not serviceable in GM cars so you will need to replace the whole thing. It is easy to do but you may have to remove the cowl (under the wiper arms) to disconnect the arm from the motor drive.
