First of all, the spots:-

1) Cheetahs have black spots all over the body.

2) Leopards have black circles all over the body

3) Jaguars have dark brown as well a black circles all over the body.

Secondly, the body colour & the habitat:-

1) Cheetahs have yellowish tint of skin. This helps in it's camouflage in the savanna grasslands.

2) Leopards have yellow-orange tint which helps them in camouflage in the trees

3) Jaguars have dull yellow skin colour which provides a better camouflage than the Cheetahs but then they don't live in the savannas in Africa, they live in the North American forests.

Third, it's the speed:-

1) Cheetah - 70mph

2) Leopard - Avoids running mostly but 50 - 60mph

3) Jaguar - (Same as Leopard)

Fourth, it's the way of hunting:-

1) Cheetah - First it camouflages itself in the savannahs, comes close to the prey & then pounces on it, breaking it's spine.

2) Leopards - Sits on Tree tops, watches the prey below & then pounces on it, breaking it's neck.

3) Jaguars - No Camouflage. It hides behind the trees, waits for the prey to come and then pounces on it. It does not miss the aim like the panthers or other cats.

Not to sound smart but by their spots. A jaguar has spots that are darker than their fur outlined with black with a black spot in the center. Go to http://www.abf90.dial.pipex.com/jaguar.h... to see a photo. A leopards spots are also darker than their fur but the outline is broken and smaller with no spot int he center. Go to http://www.awf.org/content/wildlife/deta... A cheetah has solid black spots. Go to http://www.outtoafrica.nl/animals/cheeta...
